The game's two currencies: where they come from and where they go; ads, boosts, the daily deal and the store.
Tidebreaker has two currencies. Gold is earned at sea and buys most ships, cannons, armour and sails. Crystals are rarer: they buy elite gear, keys, boosts and looks. You earn both by playing; crystals can also be bought in the store.

Crystals from sunk ships
Some ships drop crystals when sunk. The figure is the average: the fraction is the chance of one more. Every sunk ship also has a 3% chance of one extra crystal. The Fortune skill adds to what you find.
Crystal packs and offers are bought with real money; prices are shown in the store for your country. The first purchase of each crystal pack doubles its crystals.
